IP CCTV and IP cameras now provide a cost effective alternative to traditional analogue CCTV camera systems. Until recently, a cost/ benefit comparison between an analogue system and IP CCTV system would have been weighted in favour of the analogue system against the IP CCTV system. However, the IP CCTV system and IP cameras now come out on top.
The advantages of using cat 5 cables and power over Ethernet now significantly reduces the cost of installation by reducing labour and material costs. We have examined many of our previous analogue CCTV camera installations and redesigned them utilising IP cameras and the IP CCTV system is generally around 20% cheaper.
The introduction of mega pixel IP cameras in 2008 has further enhanced IP CCTV systems and the image quality is now far superior to any an analogue CCTV camera can produce. Standard features within some of the IP cameras we install now include activity detection and a comprehensive video analytics package.
The Mobotix IP camera range for example has all these features, but perhaps the most significant feature of the Mobotix camera range is that each camera has its own integral DVR with Hi-Res video recording.
This facility, coupled with the activity detection and video analytics package means that you only need record events that you wish to record. This greatly reduces the bandwidth and storage requirements of your IP CCTV system and ensures that relevant events are easily found without viewing hours of irrelevant footage.
The Mobotix IP cameras are also capable of providing 2 way audio and sending event alarms to your PC, mobile phone or PDA. Proactive security alerts can prevent crime and minimise damage or disruption caused by vandalism.
These features make the Mobotix IP cameras amongst the most advanced in the IP CCTV industry and it’s why they rapidly become one of the market leaders amongst IP CCTV camera manufacturers.
